John Crandall was born about 1612. He and Unknown [Crandall] were married about 1649.1 He and Hannah Gaylord were married after August 1670. He died before 29 November 1676 in Newport, Newport, Rhode Island. He was buried in Westerly, Washington, Rhode Island.
"The Crandall genealogy by John Cortland Crandall likely errs in providing an undocumented lineage for Elder John. That work stated that he was the son of John and Elizabeth (Drake) Crandall. Elizabeth Drake was a first cousin, once removed, of Sir Francis Drake. However, no collaborating documentation has been located in England of a couple by the name of John and Elizabeth Drake Crandall."

First Baptist Elder at Westerly, RI. Elder John Crandall had person sources.1,2 Porter Genealogy (1893) does not give his first name. He was baptized (infant) on 15 February 1617/18 in Westerleigh, Gloucestershire, England.2

J.C. Crandall states both that she was and "was probably" the daughter William & Ann (Porter) Gaylord of Windsor, CT. I'll assume it is true until shown otherwise. Hannah Gaylord had person sources.3 Porter Genealogy (1893) does not give his first name.
