Samuel Kwass was born about October 1853 in Russia. He and Sarah [Kwass] were married about 1880. He died PRHPS 1914 in Mercer Co., West Virginia.
(Kwass or kvass is a traditional Slavic fermented beverage commonly made from rye bread.) Samuel Kwass immigrated about 1887 to the United States. In 1900 Samuel Kwass was a confectioner. He and Sarah [Kwass] appeared in the census on 6 June 1900 in Pocohantas, Tazewell, Virginia.1 He and Sarah [Kwass] appeared in the census in 1910 in Pocohantas, Tazewell, Virginia.
