William Childerstone had person sources.¹ He served in the military in 1776 in Dorchester Co., Maryland.² He paid property tax on "Partnership" land in 1783 in Dorchester Co., Maryland.³ He sold 11.5 and 13.5 acres of "Partnership" land on 12 October 1786.⁴ He appeared in the census in 1800 in Dorchester Co., Maryland.⁵ He sold 2.5 acres of "Partnership" near Castle Haven (St. John's) Chapel to John Jr. on 4 February 1809.⁶ He transfered 97 acres of "Partnership" to son Levin on 17 April 1817.⁷ He was living on 4 March 1823 in Dorchester Co., Maryland. He was forced by Applegarth to sell the last 97 acres of "Partnership" on 12 May 1827.

Richard is the first Childerstone from which descent can be proved. There are records of Childerstones in Mildenhall which go back to 1229 AD but these are fragmentary and do not support genealogical proof. They are, however, undoubtedly the same family.
